The Valentine Lake Project is approximately 30 kilometres south of the town of Buchan and approximately 100 kilometres by way of gravel & logging roads from the Trans Canada Highway. The current on-site infrastructure comprises a 45-person year round camp with a kitchen, core logging facilities, office and warehouse.

The company has focused its exploration on the Valentine Lake Thrust Fault which is a 30 kilometre long major Gold Structure and to date has developed 4 gold deposits along this gold structure. Along with the 4 gold deposits there are numerous gold showings located on the splays extending from the Valentine thrust fault.

On August 2013 Marathon Gold announced its first resource from the Leprechaun gold deposit. A total of 775,000 ozs gold at 2.28 grams per tonne in the Measured and Indicated category and 140,000 ozs gold at 2.79 grams per tonne in the inferred category.

In April 2015 Marathon gold announced a resource update at 3 additional gold deposits along the Valentine Lake thrust fault.

Only 450 metres on strike from the Leprachaun gold deposit, the Sprite Deposit generated an additional 25,200 ozs gold at 2.32 grams per tonne in the Indicated category and 22,100 ozs gold at 3.32 grams per tonne in the Inferred category. The Sprite deposit is open at depth and on strike and more drilling is required to lengthen and link the pits together.

Approximately 4.5 kilometres further on strike the Marathon deposit provided an additional 195,600 ozs gold at 1.98 grams per tonne in the indicated category and 23,800 ozs gold at 2.64 grams per tonne in the inferred category.

Outside of the new resource, there are also over 2 kilometres of gold occurrences along strike and to the NE of the Marathon deposit that has never been drilled. This area will be high priority for drilling in 2015.
