Weststar Resources Corp. is a junior mineral exploration company engaged in the business of acquiring, exploring and evaluating natural resource properties.

The company’s material property is the Axe Property, located in south-central British Columbia. The company holds a 70% interest in the Axe claims, an advanced stage project with a known porphyry copper resource, located 20 kilometres north of Princeton.

In February 2014, the company along with Bearclaw Capital, which holds the other 30%, granted Copper Mountain (TSX:CUM) an option to earn a 75% undivided interest in the Axe Property by incurring a total of $9 million in expenditures over a number of years. Copper Mountain expects to produce 80 million pounds of copper during 2015 from its mining operation located 20 kilometres south of Princeton, which is just 40 kilometres from Weststar’s property.

With exploration work on the property currently underway by Copper Mountain, Weststar management continues to analyze and conduct due-diligence on potential opportunities in other industries, including opportunities in the medical marijuana and E-Cigarette sectors, to enhance shareholder value.
