Royal Canadian Mead Launches IsTheParkBusy.com to Help Users Stay Safe, Enjoy Park Life

Toronto, Ontario--(Newsfile Corp. - July 27, 2020) - In advance of the upcoming long weekend, Toronto-based Royal Canadian Mead has launched IsTheParkBusy.com, a playful single-use website that answers that exact question: is the park busy. In response to the larger-than-normal crowds visiting parks during the COVID-19 pandemic, the site uses live Google Maps data to provide real-time updates on whether local Toronto parks are busy, allowing park-goers to enjoy a park session with peace of mind.

"We know that spending time in parks is more important than ever this summer, being one of the safest ways to spend time with friends outdoors," says RCM president Matthew Gibson. "But after seeing how busy they can get, we wanted a quick and easy way for folks to plan which park they should head to. That's where IsTheParkBusy.com comes in."

Boasting a clean interface and a simple "Yes/Kinda/No" grading scale, users can see at a glance whether their favourite patch of grass is overcrowded, and quickly make alternative picnic plans. The concept is part of a larger campaign the brand is supporting this season that asks consumers to "Summer Responsibly. The idea for the site was conceived with the help of RCM's good friends at creative advertising agency BBDO.

The site launch coincides with the upcoming release of "Retired Life", RCM's newest Session Mead varietal. Brewed with fresh lemon and ginger juices, Retired Life was inspired by sunny afternoons in the great outdoors, or just your own backyard. As with all of RCM's products, Retired Life is low in sugar and naturally gluten free. The limited release will only be available at select licensees across Ontario, and online through Runner and BrewerEats delivery services. RCM's other products are available at retailers and licensees across Ontario, Alberta and Saskatchewan.
