Toronto, Ontario--(Newsfile Corp. - October 20, 2026) - Pelican AI (CSE: PEL) ("Pelican" or the "Company"), a provider of artificial intelligence-powered payments, financial crime compliance and trade finance solutions, is pleased to announce the addition of Maria Papas as Vice President of Sales, Americas, and Doug Drummond as Head of Channels and Alliances.
Mrs. Papas will lead Pelican sales efforts across the Americas. She brings extensive experience in the payments industry, having previously served as Vice President at Mastercard and at Interac, and as Director of Enterprise Relationship Management at Fiserv.
Mr. Drummond will develop Pelican's channels and alliances strategy, building a partner ecosystem that supports sustainable growth across payments and financial crime compliance. He brings deep experience in channel sales, alliances and strategic partnerships, and his background also includes time at the Central Bank of Ireland in information security.
These appointments put the Company's strategy into action. During its September 15, 2026 investor webinar, management identified partnerships and sales team expansion as the key ways Pelican intends to extend its reach. Adding dedicated senior sales and partnership leadership is a direct step on that path.
"We have a solution that has been proven in the industry, and now we just need more people to know about it. That takes more people in front of financial institutions, both directly and through partners," said Nino Di Teodoro, Chief Executive Officer of Pelican AI. "Maria and Doug give us that reach, and this is the strategy we have been laying out for shareholders."
