Vancouver, British Columbia--(Newsfile Corp. - August 28, 2026) - AsiaBaseMetals Inc. (TSXV: ABZ) ("AsiaBaseMetals" or the "Company") announces that it has elected to rely on the exemptions provided in CSA Coordinated Blanket Order 51-933 - Exemption to Permit Semi-Annual Reporting for Certain Venture Issuers.

Accordingly, the Company will no longer file interim financial reports and related management's discussion and analysis ("MD&A") for the first and third quarter interim periods as required by National Instrument 51-102 - Continuous Disclosure Obligations.

The Company is eligible for this voluntary exemption as a venture issuer listed on the TSX Venture Exchange, having its head office in British Columbia, and having annual revenue of no more than $10 million in its most recently completed financial year.

The Company will not file an interim financial report and related MD&A for the third quarter ending June 30, 2026.

The Company will now focus on filing annual financial statements and semi-annual interim financial reports (covering the six-month period) and related MD&A, which will provide more efficient, cost-effective reporting while maintaining compliance with all continuous disclosure requirements.

ABOUT ASIABASEMETALS INC.

AsiaBaseMetals Inc. (TSXV: ABZ) (the "Company") is a growth-oriented publicly listed Canadian resource company focused on acquiring and developing mineral assets in stable jurisdictions across the Americas (focus: Canada, U.S.A., Mexico, Argentina, and Chile). The Company is actively pursuing exceptional early-stage and advanced projects in the copper and gold sectors while prudently advancing its existing assets, including the Jervis Project (100% owned) and the Gnome Project (100% owned), in line with prevailing market conditions. The Company is anchored by an award-winning team — combining management, board of directors, and advisory board collectively the "Team") — with a proven track record of discoveries, development, production, and value creation. AsiaBaseMetals' growth strategy is matched by the scale of the opportunities before it.

Jervis Project - VMS-style — Cu, Zn, Ag, Au — 100% owned, comprising contiguous ~ 1,000 hectares, British Columbia, Canada. The Project having a 2 Km identified anomaly sits 55 Km northwest on trend of the Britannia Mine (once the largest copper producer in the British Commonwealth) within the VMS-prospective geological trend of the Gambier Group rocks, which also hosts the Rox project (20 Km northwest of Jervis) held by Kenorland Minerals Ltd., a successful project generator. Jervis Project is located approximately 80 km northwest of Vancouver, BC, and 11 km north of the community of Egmont on the Sunshine Coast; within the traditional territory of the Shíshálh First Nation. The Company, as required, completed the Mineral Claims Consultation Framework (MCCF) in July 2026.

Gnome Project - Zn / Co — 100% owned, comprising contiguous ~ 1,800 hectares, British Columbia, Canada. Gnome, a highly prospective project, is strategically located in the Kechika Trough of the regionally extensive Selwyn Basin. The Selwyn Basin is recognized as one of the world's most prolific sedimentary basins for sedimentary exhalative (SEDEX) zinc-lead-silver and stratiform barite deposits and hosts several significant deposits. Gnome lies approximately 35 km southeast along trend of the Cirque deposit (Teck / Korea Zinc joint venture, 50% each) and 15 kilometers southeast of ZincX Resources' Cardiac Creek Deposit. The Company plans to advance Gnome exploration prudently, guided by the permitting timeline for the granting of mining permits on the adjacent Cirque and Cardiac Creek projects.
