In Oxfordshire, Ridgeway House won a RIBA South Award 2026. Charlie Luxton Design remodelled a 19th-century brick barn and farmhouse into a low-energy family home, keeping the original buildings and adding new-build elements alongside them. The scheme used EBM Petersen Cover Tile (C48, 170mm), and the house sits on an escarpment looking out over the surrounding farmland.

At Wellington College in Berkshire, the new Woodland Quad also took a RIBA South Award 2026. Designed by MICA, it adds a sixth-form boarding house, day house and energy centre to the college's Crowthorne campus, built largely in mass timber with brick worked through the detailing. The brickwork features EBM Ibstock Himley Ebony Black, including seven bespoke specials.

Chris Ortner, Marketing & Brand Director at EBM, said: "It's been a strong year for us, and two RIBA wins in a single round is something the whole team feels good about.

"What I like is how differently the architects used brick across these projects, settling a family home into the Oxfordshire countryside on one, and weaving it through the timber detailing of a new boarding house on the other. Those are very different jobs for one material to do."

EBM supplies brick and architectural materials to architects and contractors throughout the UK, and is the exclusive UK agent for several leading Danish manufacturers. Its work ranges from individual self-builds to major commercial developments.
