Soul Train follows the story of seventeen-year-old Joshua as he wakes up unexpectedly on the floor of a train station with only a ticket to guide his way forward. On the train, he travels through heaven, purgatory, and every sector of hell. Stop after stop, Joshua begins to learn more about himself, his life, and the masks that his fellow passengers have worn throughout their own journeys. Once he realizes where he really is, will Joshua be able to hold onto his ticket and get off at the right stop?

Although Soul Train is intended for a young adult audience, fantasy readers of any age will find much to enjoy in this refreshing, insightful tale. Husvar's work includes themes of finding your true self and delving beyond the superficial. Soul Train also provides a safe environment to explore ideas of suicide and anorexia in the context of the story.

While writing, Husvar drew upon her own experiences with mental health to add a layer of depth and nuance to her work. Soul Train tackles difficult issues with sensitivity and respect. When asked to comment on her work, Husvar reflected, "There is never a point where we are perfect. We are just imperfect people trying to make it through life with a story worth telling in the next."

Soul Train is available for purchase on Amazon, Barnes & Noble or wherever books are sold.
