Saskatoon, Saskatchewan--(Newsfile Corp. - August 24, 2020) - The Saskatoon Wildlife Federation and Saskatoon Tribal Council have signed seven memorandums of understanding with a number of Indigenous communities in Saskatchewan. Through the creation of youth firearm programs, this Partnership will focus on education, conservation, and the preservation and celebration of Indigenous heritage.

"This will be significant in helping interested youths become properly certified," said Saskatoon Tribal Chief Mark Arcand. "If one wants to be a hunter, how do they store a gun properly? How do they become responsible firearm owners and users? When you talk about what's going on in the world, I look at this and I'm excited to have First Nations and non-First Nations people working together to support our youth.''

Businessman Brian Lovig has donated 24 rifles to the program. Brian made the donation on behalf of Firearm Legal Defence, the originator of legal expense insurance for firearm owners in Canada. Brian Lovig donates $100,000 or more throughout each year to gun and nature programs for youth in Canada. In the US, Brian donates to Happy Trails Children's Foundation and to the John Wayne Cancer Foundation.
