"This delivery marks an important first for GreenPower in New Mexico and shows how all-electric vehicles can serve the everyday transportation needs of local business, organizations and commerical entities in the state," said Brendan Riley, President of GreenPower. "We are proud to support The Hive as it introduces a healthier, safer ride for the children and families it serves."
"Reliable, safe and healthy transportation is central to helping children access our programs, and these new zero-emission GreenPower passenger vans will strengthen that service while supporting a cleaner future for our community," said Daisy Lira, Founder and Chief Development & Advocacy Officer of The Hive. "We are excited to work with GreenPower and to put these vehicles into service for our day care transportation needs."
Purpose-built from the ground up as an all-electric vehicle, the EV Star Passenger Van is designed for shuttle, transit and community transportation applications. Its flexible seating configurations, electric passenger door and available accessibility equipment allow operators to tailor the vehicle to specific service needs.
"Deploying GreenPower's EV Star Passenger Van will provide our day care children with cleaner, healthier transportation by eliminating tailpipe emissions during daily trips and reducing their exposure to exhaust around loading areas and neighborhood routes. As a purpose-built, all-electric, zero-emission vehicle, it also offers a quieter ride, helping create a calmer and more comfortable travel experience for young passengers while supporting cleaner air in the communities where they live, learn and play," Lira concluded.
