Maverick Gold and Silver Confirms Exploration Potential for On-Trend Targets at Jericho Property, Nevada

Vancouver, British Columbia--(Newsfile Corp. - September 1, 2026) - Maverick Gold and Silver Corp., (CSE: MAV) (FSE: VR61) (OTC Pink: VRCFF) ("Maverick" or the "Company") announces results from chip channel and grab samples from the northern portion of the Jericho Property ("Jericho" or the "Property") in Lincoln County, Nevada.

Eighteen (18) samples were taken covering the Fluorite Flat, Upper Flats and NE Extension Zones. These zones represent the northeastern 2-kilometre portion of the West Trend.

The sampling returned greater than 1 g/t gold in two targets that are 500 metres apart (see below for details). These results, in context of the geology and mineralization identified in the southern portion of the Property, validate the Company's geological interpretations that the northern portion of the Property may overlie an extension of the mineralizing system and, therefore elevates the entire northern portion of the property to a high-priority exploration target that warrants further investigation.

These exploration targets are on trend with the Helen and Tempa Zones where the Company has sampled up to 644.0 g/t (or 18.87 oz/T) silver and up to 7.21 g/t (or 0.21 oz/T) gold (see News Release dated August 25, 2026).

The Jericho Property is located approximately 40 km northeast of Pioche and is within the Eastern Calderas mineralized district. The Property is host to epithermal gold and silver mineralization made up of quartz veins, breccias, and stockwork zones that occur within two sub-parallel northeast striking structural corridors: the West Trend, which has been traced for in excess of 4 kilometres and the East Trend, which has been traced for 2 kilometres.

Fluorite Flat Zone:

The Fluorite Flat Zone is 550 metres from the Tempa Zone and is directly on trend with the Tempa and Helen Zones that, when combined, have been traced for approximately two (2) kilometres in strike length and over 250 metres vertically.

The Fluorite Flat Zone is defined by a gossanous area that measures several hundred metres in diameter. There are few outcrops and sampling was concentrated in an area where there had been some historic disturbance that had removed a thin layer of overburden. Fourteen (14) samples were taken with gold grades ranging from trace to 2.16 grams per tonne (g/t) gold (Au). Five (5) samples returned greater than 0.5 g/t gold.

XRD and thin section studies indicate that the underlying rocks at Fluorite Flat are variably to strongly clay altered (illite +/- smectite) and silica-flooded volcanics. The area is host to a widely spaced stockwork of irregular quartz veinlets and stringers with local veins exceeding several centimetres in width. Throughout the zone are patchy areas with moderate to heavy iron and manganese oxide staining. The core of the Zone is centred on a shallow excavation that exposed an area with a significantly higher concentration of silica and local vuggy quartz veins.

Upper Flats Zone:

The Upper Flats Zone is approximately 500 metres to the north-northwest of the Fluorite Flat Zone and is located in an area of the property with very little outcrop. The single sample taken at Upper Flats was from a shallow pit that exposed silica-flooded volcanic rocks that host irregular massive white to vuggy quartz veins and veinlets. This sample returned 2.56 g/t Au over a width of 1.5 metres.

NE Extension Zone:

The NE Extension Zone is located approximately 900 metres northwest of and 160 metres vertically above the Fluorite Flat Zone. The NE Extension Zone is on trend with the Helen, Tempa and Fluorite Flat Zones and marks the current northeastern extent of the West Trend.

The zone is centred around a two-metre-deep trench and what may have been an exploration adit that has collapsed. The mineralization is made up of wispy narrow quartz veinlets within locally silicified bleached volcanic rocks with iron and manganese oxides. Three (3) samples were taken from an area measuring 25 by 45 metres. The samples contained trace amounts of gold and silver and were weakly anomalous in mercury and arsenic, which are important pathfinder elements that are known to occur proximal to, or above, epithermal systems.

Interpretation:

The bleached volcanic rocks hosting the Fluorite Flat and Upper Flats Zones contain illite +/- smectite, a clay alteration that is recognized to occur at high levels of an epithermal mineralizing system. Combined with the elevated gold values, these zones are interpreted to represent active fluid pathways that may occur above more significant mineralization at depth.

"The fact that these targets are on trend with the Tempa and Helen Zones, which together have been traced for approximately two kilometres along strike with more than 250 metres of vertical exposure, increases the importance of the Fluorite Flat and Upper Flats Zones as exploration targets," stated Ian Foreman, P.Geo., V.P. The potential for the Fluorite Flat, Upper Flats and NE Extension Zones to represent the superficial expressions of a continuation of the mineralized veins sampled at Helen and Tempa warrants detailed follow up exploration.

Analytical Methods, Laboratory and QA/QC Information:

All samples were delivered by Company personnel to ALS in Reno, Nevada, an ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited laboratory that is independent of the Company.

Gold analyses were completed using fire assay with atomic absorption finish (method Au-AA23) on a 30-gram aliquot. Samples returning over-limit gold values were reanalyzed using fire assay with gravimetric finish. Silver and multi-element analyses were completed using four-acid digestion with ICP-AES finish (method ME-ICP61).

ALS inserted certified standards, blanks, and duplicates in accordance with its accredited internal quality control procedures. The laboratory has no relationship with the Company.

As part of the Company's quality assurance and quality control program, commercially prepared and certified reference standards as well as proprietary blank samples were inserted at regular intervals into the sample series, comprising approximately 5% of the samples submitted. The blanks were used to monitor potential contamination during sample preparation and analysis, while the certified reference standards were used to assess analytical accuracy and laboratory performance. QA/QC results were reviewed as assay certificates were received, and all blanks and standards reported within the Company's established acceptance limits; accordingly, no material QA/QC issues were identified.

Kenneth Tullar, C.P.Geo., a consultant to the Company and an independent Qualified Person, as defined under National Instrument 43-101 - Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects ("NI 43-101"), has reviewed and approved the scientific and technical information contained in this news release.
