Guelph, Ontario--(Newsfile Corp. - July 20, 2015) - Dr. Gene Shelp, President and CEO of ENPAR Technologies Inc. (TSXV: ENP) ("ENPAR" or "the Company"), is pleased to announce that the Company has received a contract to test its patented ammonia treatment system at a Canadian mining site in North Central Canada. Following up on the success of previous testing at a site located in Western Canada during the fourth quarter of 2014, ENPAR is excited to further demonstrate the efficacy of the system under varying field site conditions. This will assist Canadian mining operations to implement effective year-round practices for the management of ammonia.
The versatile, state-of-the-art AmmEL demonstration scale unit is designed to treat approximately 100 m3 per day of mine effluent containing elevated levels of ammonia.
The AmmEL-LC Electrochemical Ammonia Treatment System is a two-stage process consisting of ion exchange followed by electrochemical oxidation of ammonia to environmentally friendly nitrogen gas (N2). Designed to achieve high ammonia removal rates in industrial and municipal wastewater, groundwater sources and industrial process waters, the technology does not produce nitrate, a known carcinogen, or the greenhouse gas nitrous oxide (N2O). Unlike conventional biological systems, the technology is also not affected by low water temperatures (0°C) and has the ability to achieve very low ammonia levels in treated streams. The system can be implemented as a full-scale, stand-alone treatment plant or as a complementary upgrade to conventional methods at new or existing water treatment facilities.

Dr. Shelp commented, "ENPAR is extremely pleased to partner with this technology savvy Canadian Mining Company. Partnerships such as these help to ensure that the Canadian mining industry remains a world leader through the early adoption of innovative technologies. These mutually beneficial relationships establish a solid platform for Canadian technology innovators to expand beyond the national stage to international markets. Management believes that ENPAR's success will benefit the Province and the country by creating career opportunities for professional and skilled manufacturing talent and by contributing to Canada's international legacy of innovation in clean water technologies."
Funding for construction of the AmmEL Demonstration System was provided by The Ontario Ministry of Economic Development and Innovation through the Innovation Demonstration Fund.
