Toronto, Ontario--(Newsfile Corp. - March 18, 2022) - The annual St. Patrick's Parade will return to the streets of Toronto on Sunday, March 20, 2022.

When COVID-19 restrictions were announced in March 2020, Toronto St. Patrick's Parade was among the first to cancel its event. The parade was cancelled once again in 2021.

Following the rollout of vaccinations across the province and the recent reopening plans announced by the Ontario government, Toronto's St. Patrick's Parade returns for its annual celebration.

The parade will begin at the corner of St. George and Bloor Street West at 12 pm and proceed down Yonge Street, turning left towards the review stand at Nathan Phillips Square.

Toronto's St. Patrick's Parade is one of the largest community events in the city and is the largest celebration of Irish culture anywhere in Canada.

Over 5,000 participants march the parade route each year and thousands more line the streets to watch the festivities.

Shaun Ruddy, Chairperson of the St. Patrick's Parade Society of Toronto said:

"After two long years, we are delighted to return to the street of Toronto for the annual St. Patrick's Parade.

"We made the decision in 2020 and 2021 to cancel our parade in the best interest of public health and of the people of Toronto. But following widespread vaccinations and the planned lifting of restrictions, we are looking forward to returning with our parade on Sunday, March 20.

"The St. Patrick's Parade is one of the largest events in Toronto each year and we are delighted that we can celebrate with everyone once again."
