Although the company holds some promising gold properties in Nevada, which we'll discuss later, it is the company's recent acquisition of Defense Technology Corporation that is getting investor's interest.

Defense Technology, a wholly owned subsidiary, has patented and trademarked the "Offender Alert Passive Scan", an advanced passive scanning system for detecting and identifying concealed threats.

Everyone remembers the headlines from Sandy Hook Elementary with 26 shot, including 18 children, and Columbine High School with 28 shot, including 20 children, but are you aware that since 2013 there have been 170 school shootings in America.

The company's proprietary scanning device uses the Earth's magnetic fields to detect potential security threats, eliminating any possibility of harmful events.

Jeffrey Vanalstine, Chairman & CEO of Defense Technology stated: "The DTC ‘Passive Scanning System' does not expose school children and students nor anyone else passing through our scanner to any X-ray emissions and is therefore totally harmless unlike all other systems presently in use. In addition, its highly sensitive technology to detect the smallest object will also act as a major deterrent."

When someone walks through the company's scanning device, sensors embedded within the aluminum frame detect anything of a metallic nature, providing a visual indication of where the item is located on the subject as well as an approximation of the size of the item. Readings can be transmitted, set off an audible signal, or displayed overhead by a range of color-coded LED lights indicating the severity of the threat. The sensitivity can be adjusted to ignore keys and items such as mobile phones.

Several scanners can be remotely linked to a computer station, where they can be controlled by a single security person, and using infrared technology, the system can capture data on intruders 24/7 allowing for unmanned operation after hours. The unit can be concealed within a door frame, as an entrance to an open area, or installed as a standalone unit for portable operation, where it can be powered up to 180 hours by a battery pack.

The standalone costs only $2,000 per unit, less than half the cost of similar units currently in use in the marketplace, all of which are "active" rather than "passive" units, and none of which provide a memory log. For less than $10,000, a whole school can be monitored, and schools are just one of the many target markets.

On the mineral side, Gold Canyon holds its 30 mineral lease claims in Nevada within Long Canyon Gold Resources. One of the properties is in the mineral rich Spruce Ridge area, and several optioned sections adjacent to the original discovery acquired by Newmont Mining for $2.3 billion and Newmont's open pit mine scheduled to be in full operation by 2017. The company plans to spin-off its gold properties, creating a second public company.

The shares are currently trading at $0.20, and with 21.2 million outstanding, the company is capitalized at $4.3 million.
