This month's lead story, "The Blockchain is the True Beginning of Recorded History" by David Johnston, Founder of DApps Fund, considers January 3rd, 2009, the birth of the bitcoin blockchain, a turning point for recording history.

On that date, the bitcoin blockchain began confirming blocks of transactions, appropriately starting with the Genesis Block, on its decentralized network of nodes.
