Abir is a young and successful computer engineer in Silicon Valley, California. He also happens to be a reputable blogger and a TED speaker. When Abir turns thirty, his mother arranges his marriage with affluent and high society Riya from Kolkata. After all, he was settled in his career, and this was the right time to start a family, Mother had counseled. Obedient to her wishes as always, Abir decides to meet Riya in his hometown, Kolkata during a visit. But just as things were flowing the way it had been set up, he bumps into his ex flame. They had parted ways four years back because of Abir’s family not accepting her. Abir feels he still owes her an explanation, and an apology. Will Abir be able to cope up with his emotional turmoil on seeing her again, face her once more after four years, and make things amicable before they moved on? Or will society’s cruel prejudices break their mutual trust further to a point of no return?

Simply awesome
An impressive debut novel. The characters are well crafted, they feel absolutely real. The topic hits hard at the hypocrisy we nurture within ourselves, which is so hard to uproot - our prejudice for the colour of the skin. Recommended read.
