The conference featured keynotes from ecosystem pioneers as well as hundreds of talks, demos, and workshops. Also, in the spirit of decentralization, the main program was decided by community voting on submitted proposals.

CESS at Polkadot Decoded

Business Development Lead Louis Albuerne represented CESS at the conference. Throughout Louis' career, he has always gravitated toward "The Next Great Thing" and he was involved in the early commercialization of the Internet and the World Wide Web, having been involved in the first broadband mobile wireless initiatives, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Open Source Software (OSS), and now, Blockchain and Web3.

According to Albuerne: "CESS cloud storage functionality is available for all Web3 projects since CESS is cross-ecosystem, cross-chain, and cross-platform friendly. However, CESS can contribute specifically to the Polkadot ecosystem thanks to CESS's storage pallet that was designed to service all Substrate projects (over 500 of them) within the Polkadot ecosystem."

This proposal aims to help developers integrate CESS's storage services directly into their Substrate-based projects without major code modifications. Users will be able to easily upload and download data by customizing specific components without having to perform other installations or modifications. As such, CESS is positioned to become a vital component of Polkadot's underlying infrastructure and will be instrumental in allowing Polkadot to become the first public chain ecosystem to own its native decentralized storage network.

In addition to these Polkadot-specific advancements, CESS is also available for all Web2 businesses of any size. Furthermore, as a chain-agnostic protocol built for business storage needs of every type, CESS's network performance in terms of stability, data availability, retrieval, and efficiency are the same as Web2 storage, but CESS's network can scale up without limit and it can leverage the power of the community to expand as more nodes join and the CESS ecosystem.

CESS Charting a New Path for Web2 and Web3 Commercial Data Storage

As an effective bridge between Web2 and Web3, CESS is making Web3 technologies accessible for Web2 and is empowering individuals to regain control of their own digital identity, assets, and data privacy. Users will then gain the freedom to transfer their proprietary data in any form they prefer without platform restrictions using CESS, making CESS an inseparable part of Web3's storage infrastructure.

When speaking about the impact of the conference on attendees, CESS Community Lead John Humphreys-Ramos said: "Joining the biggest event of the Polkadot ecosystem allows CESS to build meaningful, in-person relationships with other leading projects. We can share the newest technologies, discuss industry pain points, and outline how CESS's cloud storage solution can solve problems while we brainstorm future business partnerships and explore opportunities for building a better Polkadot ecosystem. At the conference, we have also been able to share our vision to other blockchain enthusiasts and build deeper relationships with both not just projects but the general public as well."

Within this context, Humphreys-Ramos said that decentralized storage is so important to the future development of the Web3 space because there are many blatant risks to current storage solutions such as data breaches and the exploitation of user data being stored centrally. High data center costs lead to data storage monopolization, leading to further increases in prices and more data breaches and data rights conflicts between clients and service providers.

Web3 storage solutions, such as those provided by CESS, can solve all these issues and better utilize scattered underused storage spaces so that data is highly protected. Data ownership rights are also protected and are reverted back to the data creators. Data ownership and data security are critical to the success of decentralized, user-focused services and applications in the future, and they are in-built features on the CESS platform.

CESS's Unique Value Propositions

CESS accomplishes the above thanks to several unique features. It has the capability of processing a massive number of large datasets efficiently, which is a fundamental requirement for large commercial storage demands. The solution also counts on smart space management that allows the network to "pool" storage space from many nodes to form a decentralized cloud storage pool, thereby maximizing the use of scattered storage space effectively to realize intelligent cloud space management.

CESS also offers high data security, availability, and retrieval that are enabled by data reduplication and recovery technologies. That translates to 99.99% data availability.

In the future, CESS is marching towards two core objectives. The first is to become a leading decentralized storage platform that can support large-scale commercial applications. The second is to build out the CESS ecosystem. All the proprietary technologies embedded in CESS enable the platform to enhance its role in Web3. CESS will be a decentralized storage network and a global data-sharing platform, which will empower individuals to regain control of their own digital identity, assets, and data privacy.

CESS says it can do all of this better than other decentralized storage solutions, such as IPFS and Filecoin, by overcoming issues of slow data retrieval. It counts on a chain-agnostic decentralized cloud storage function and the CESS ecosystem of dApps that can use CESS's storage to deploy data such as NFTs, blockchain games, and metaverse applications directly on-chain. Since CESS can store dynamic data and support streaming media dApps, it is purpose-built for enterprise-grade Web3 applications of the future.

Most current decentralized storage projects can't support large-scale commercial applications in this manner, and CESS has intentionally chosen the decentralized commercial storage track from day one. This is due to a firm belief that the decentralized commercial storage track can provide CESS with more commercial opportunities while generating a stronger cash flow and providing more profitable monetization opportunities as compared to the other leading storage projects.

About CESS

CESS is a decentralized storage solution with a unique infrastructure that separates storage, scheduling, consensus, and the application layer. This helps optimize network performance and achieve massively scaled speeds of up to 10,000 TPS.

Combined with improved efficiency, lower costs, amplified storage capabilities, unique incentive mechanisms for miners and network participants, and a successful private funding raise, CESS is suitably positioned to deliver on its USPs of high data assurance with high availability, storage space maximization, speedy data retrieval on the order of milliseconds, and smart integrations and APIs - including support for WASM and EVM compatibility - that will help roll out CESS to real-life platforms and projects.
