Wilmslow, United Kingdom--(Newsfile Corp. - July 1, 2026) -  The Flexiss Group has announced that its Commercial Director, Paul Whittaker, has been appointed Chairman of The Self Storage Association UK (SSA UK), the trade body representing self-storage operators and suppliers across the country. The appointment recognises Whittaker's extensive industry knowledge, his commitment to raising standards, and his work supporting the continued growth of the self-storage sector across the UK.

As Chairman, Whittaker will help guide the Association's strategic direction, working alongside fellow Board members to champion best practice, innovation and collaboration throughout the industry.

Whittaker brings considerable sector experience to the role. He has spent eight years in the storage industry, developing his knowledge across three respected and profitable companies, having previously held a senior management role in the insurance sector and served as managing director of an international manufacturing business in the UK.

Commenting on his appointment, Whittaker said: "I'm honoured to step into this role and continue the great work that my predecessor Karen Murrell achieved. I'm also looking forward to working with Simon Forrester as CEO of the association, in championing self-storage and working with operators and suppliers across the industry."

Whittaker takes on the chairmanship while continuing his role at the Flexiss Group, where its flagship SureStore brand was named Multi Site Operator of the Year by the Self Storage Association for two consecutive years. The group is recognised for its focus on sustainable, design-led facilities, including stores built to operate at net zero carbon.
