About illume
Founded in 2018, illume was a celebration platform delivering group cards and gifts to people across the US. An offshoot of a project at Stanford Business School, illume would grow to facilitate over 400,000 notes of appreciation, gratitude, and celebration. In late 2023, they joined with Kudoboard, a leading appreciation platform serving over 10 million users.

Just like illume, creating a digital group board is an easy process with Kudoboard. To create a Kudoboard, invite others to contribute, and deliver to the recipient:
- Visit Kudoboard: Start at the Kudoboard homepage and familiarize yourself with the platform. Decide which type of card you want to create, and sign up or log in to your Kudoboard account.
- Create a New Board: Click on “Create New Kudoboard” to begin the process. Name your board for your recipient, select an occasion, and choose a design template that matches their personality.
- Invite People to the Card: Add contributor emails to invite them to post on the group card. You can also send an invite via email, social media, Slack, or by simply sending them the unique board link.
- Personalize Your Board: Kudoboard empowers contributors to leave heartfelt messages, share memories, or upload media that resonates with the recipient. There are a number of ways they can contribute, from adding text and photos to using videos and GIFs.
