Factory

Our Factory

Quality, precision, innovative spirit. Cornerstones of the impressive success story, from a small firm in China to a corporate group operating at the global level.

Our factory can supply the new product developed and OEM service. Our relay have been exported to over 80 countries and region all over the world. ATO electrical relays enjoy high reputation among the customers because of high quality and wholesale price.

Relay ce certification

Our Certification

The CE certification for solid state relays is a crucial approval mark indicating compliance with European Union safety and quality standards. To obtain CE certification for an SSR, solid state relay manufacturer must demonstrate that the product adheres to these standards through rigorous testing and documentation. Our AC and DC solid state relays all meet this standard.

This process involves evaluating factors such as insulation, thermal performance, and electromagnetic interference, ensuring the SSR relay doesn't pose a risk to users or other connected equipment.

SSR Relay Overview

A solid state relay or SSR for short is an electrical switch that can be used to operate a higher voltage circuit using a low voltage circuit. The SSR relay has four terminals, two of which are input control terminals, and the other two terminals are output control terminals. They consist mainly of three parts: Input Circuit (Control Circuit), Drive Circuit, and Output Circuit (Controlled Circuit).

ATO electronic relays, whether it's a single phase or a 3 phase solid state relay are also featured with a red LED input status indicator, high structural strength, high resistance to shock, CE-listed and come with a built-in over voltage protection. We also have models that integrate a built-in heat radiator to provide more convenient and streamlined assembly units.

Solid State Relay FAQ

Does solid state relay output AC or DC?

SSR relay is electronic switches that use semiconductor devices like thyristors to control the flow of electrical current. The output of an SSR can be either AC or DC, depending on the specific model and application requirements. SSRs are versatile and can be designed for various load types, making them suitable for both AC and DC applications. They are commonly used to switch AC loads like lights, heaters, and motors or DC loads such as LEDs and electronic circuits. The output type is determined by the input signal and the SSR's internal design, making them adaptable to a wide range of applications.

How long will a solid state relay last?

The lifespan of a SSR solid state relay largely depends on factors like operating conditions, load type, and quality of components. Generally, high-quality SSRs can last between 100,000 to 10 million cycles, which translates to several years of operation in typical applications. SSRs have no mechanical parts, reducing wear and tear, making them more durable than electromechanical relays. However, excessive heat, overvoltage, or current spikes can reduce their lifespan. Proper sizing, adequate cooling, and protection measures can extend the SSR's life. It's essential to consult the manufacturer's specifications and consider the specific application for a more accurate estimate of an SSR's longevity.

How does solid state relay work?

A solid state relay (SSR) is an electronic switching device that uses semiconductor components, typically an optocoupler and a triac or thyristor, to control the flow of electrical current without mechanical contacts. When an input voltage is applied to the optocoupler's LED, it emits light, which triggers a photo-sensitive component. This, in turn, allows current to flow through the output circuit, activating or deactivating the load connected to the SSR. SSRs offer advantages over traditional mechanical relays, such as faster switching, longer lifespan, and reduced electromagnetic interference, making them ideal for applications that require precise and reliable electrical control.

How do you cool a solid state relay?

Cooling a solid-state relay (SSR) is crucial to ensure its proper operation and longevity. To cool an SSR, consider the following methods:
1. Heat Sink. Attach a heat sink to the SSR, which helps dissipate heat generated during operation. Choose a heat sink with adequate thermal resistance to maintain safe operating temperatures.
2. Airflow. Use fans or natural convection to improve airflow around the SSR and heat sink, enhancing heat dissipation.
3. Ambient Temperature Control. Maintain a controlled operating environment with a stable ambient temperature to prevent overheating.
4. Load Management. Properly match the SSR's current and voltage ratings to the load to reduce excessive heat generation.

Can a solid state relay burn out?

Yes, solid state relay can burn out due to various factors. Overcurrent, voltage spikes, and excessive heat are common causes. When the current through an SSR exceeds its rated load capacity or if it encounters a voltage surge, it can lead to internal component failure, resulting in burnout. Additionally, if the SSR's internal heat dissipation is insufficient for the load, it can overheat and eventually fail. Proper selection, heat sinking, and protection measures can help prevent SSR burnout, ensuring their reliable operation in control and switching applications.
