On 16 April, the DTRA Technical Reachback Division hosted a meeting with the US Army Chemical Munitions Activity (CMA) from Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. The visitors from CMA were briefed on the DTRA Technical Reachback Mission and its role supporting FEMA as the Interagency Modeling and Atmospheric Assessment Center (IMAAC). Discussions were also held on the potential for CMA to leverage DTRA's Hazard Prediction Analysis Capability (HPAC) software to support its mission in the continued dismantlement and neutralization of chemical munitions.

Earth Day 2024

The DTRA Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health Office hosted an Earth Day celebration today along with special guests from the Fairfax County Department of Public Works & Environmental Services and the Fairfax County Park Authority. The first 50 people received Gray Dogwood tree seedlings. Let’s make Earth Day every day!

Dr. Rhys Williams, DTRA ExDIR was invited to participate as a keynote speaker at the Achieving Transformative Cooperation for National Defense Forum. This event focused on achieving seamless sensor-to-shooter connectivity on the battlefield by emphasizing combined interoperability with global partners. Dr. Williams was joined by top military leaders, defense experts and policymakers that directly impact international security.

DTRA Director and senior leaders were thrilled to host Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) Ambassador Nicole Shampaine for insightful discussions on future arms control strategies. Her expertise enlightened our mutual approach to global security. Welcome, Ambassador!

DTRA Kicks Off the CBDP's annual Chem Bio Operation Analysis Event.

DTRA kicks off the CBDP’s annual Chem Bio Operation Analysis or CBOA at U.S. Marine Corp Station, Camp Lejeune from April 13-18, 2024.

On Day 1, Joint Force members engage with technology developers to attain a working knowledge of the prototypes that will be used during the field experiment.

CBOA 2024 will provide Joint Force members with an environment and platform that stresses technologies, accelerates product development, and helps narrow capability gaps.
