Skyrocket Entertainment, the online gambling film rights company that launched in Cannes in 2018, has acquired the international rights to a number of major Hollywood movies following a deal with Millennium Media.
The package includes films such as Rambo 4, The Expendables and the Fallen franchise, which will now be transformed into gaming content and products, such as slot machines, and migrated into the worldwide online gaming sector, an industry valued at $52 billion this year.
Following several distribution and output deals recently secured with online gaming platform operators, Skyrocket will ensure global reach for the film-branded gaming content within regulated markets including the U.K., Malta, Eastern Europe, Russia/ CIS and Asia across more than 350 gaming sites. Skyrocket will also oversee the game-building, certification and distribution of these titles to create products with established worldwide audiences for gambling games such as slots, instant games, bingo and lotto.
Production of the film-branded gaming content will commence in May with delivery slated for 2020. The deal was struck between Skyrocket CEO Sean O’Kelly and Millennium Media president Jeffrey Greenstein.
“We are excited to be working with Millennium Media, adding the crown jewels of their library to the Skyrocket slate for this innovative venture,” said O’Kelly. “Millennium recognized the value and vast potential of this new revenue stream from day one and we’re looking forward to creating fresh and immersive gaming experiences around these well-loved films, which resonate with existing but also new audiences worldwide.”
