Global security and aerospace company Lockheed Martin has signed a joint collaboration agreement with IT and network technologies provider NEC.

Under this agreement, the companies extend their partnership on using NEC’s System Invariant Analysis Technology (SIAT) to drive the speed and efficiency of system diagnostics.

The partnership will continue to provide artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) services across product lifecycles, as well as benefit the development of spacecraft and other applications, including Nasa’s Orion vehicle for the Artemis mission.

The collaboration is also finalising a licensing deal with a multi-year option.

Lockheed Martin space executive vice-president Rick Ambrose said: “The power of AI is leveraged across our entire enterprise, and with a trusted partner like NEC, we gain the resources to expand its abilities at scale across our internal operations.

“By proactively analysing telemetry data we are able to deliver our systems even faster and streamline the work that our employees do every day.”

The two companies have been working together for many years to assess the efficacy of SIAT in early production testing and operational scenarios.

NEC’s SIAT advanced analytics engine leveraging data collected from sensors to studies the behaviour of systems, including computer systems, power plants, factories and buildings to detect inconsistencies and prescribe resolutions automatically.

The technology is integrated with Lockheed Martin’s Telemetry Analytics for Universal Artificial Intelligence (T-TAURI) AI service to achieve a complete understanding of the system.
