As NPR reported Wednesday, Feb. 17, 7 million Texans were under a boil water advisory following historical winter storms that have left behind unspeakable amounts of water damage to homes across the state due to burst pipes and stressed water systems.

As Texas was ill-equipped to deal with well below freezing temperatures and power outages, millions of residents now face a clean water crisis. Some sources estimate that it could be closer to half of the state's population that's without clean water.

Greene Concepts Inc., a beverage and bottling plant in Marion, has announced it will partner with a trucking company to donate and send two truckloads of BE WATER 16.9 ounce Pure Artesian Spring Water bottled water brand to Houston, TX.

The trucks will start their journey to Texas on Monday, Feb. 22.

Each truck will carry 1,540 cases each, for a total of 73,920 bottles, directly to one of Houston’s warming centers, Gallery Furniture. From there, Gallery Furnitures CEO Jim McInvale will receive the bottled water supplies and hand them out to local residents.

"Our hope is the BE WATER bottles should make coping with the change in weather, loss of power and temporary displacement easier for everyone," said Greene Concepts VP of Communications David Johnson.

Greene Concepts said since word got around over the weekend about its efforts to send one truckload of water to Houston, it received many additional contacts from people willing to provide aid and resources to assist the Houston residents.

One of these donations allowed the company to send an entire second truckload of bottled water to Gallery Furniture.

Greene Concepts is also authorized to assist in emergency situations through FEMA.

"We thank our local community for your continued support as we strive to make life a little easier for our fellow Americans in need," Johnson said.

Worldwide Express, a global logistics company headquartered in Dallas, TX, is one of the largest authorized resellers of express shipping for UPS, as well as a trusted freight partner to more than 55 carriers. Thanks to the effort of one of its senior inside account executives, Scott Rogers, the trucking costs associated with the shipment from N.C. to TX will be covered.

"Our entire team is truly humbled to be able to assist the residents of Houston in every way possible during their time of need with our BE WATER deliveries," said Greene Concepts CEO Lenny Greene. "Our hope is that these efforts bring a little more comfort to the people of Houston so they may receive a crucial staple product in our BE WATER and rest a little easier. We plan to make a difference by sending our donation of BE WATER bottled water products to Houston as quickly as possible."

"We are also planning additional ways to contribute even more to relief efforts around the country. We will release additional information about those plans at a later date," Greene continued.
