SOL Coaching™ is the weaving together of social permaculture, methodology of creative facilitation and principles of servant leadership in order to help people, businesses and communities build a sustainable future rooted in a healthy, inclusive and thriving ecosystem.

What is Social Permaculture?

Social permaculture, as I envision it, is a framework rooted in the principles of permaculture but applied to social systems and human interactions. Permaculture, in its essence, seeks to design sustainable and regenerative systems modeled after natural ecosystems. Similarly, social permaculture extends these principles to our relationships, communities, and societies. It involves cultivating patterns and practices that promote resilience, cooperation, and mutual support within human networks.

In social permaculture, we emphasize the importance of observing and understanding the dynamics of human relationships, fostering inclusivity, and encouraging collaboration. It involves designing social structures that enhance communication, empathy, and the well-being of individuals and communities. By integrating permaculture principles into our social fabric, we aim to create harmonious and sustainable societies that not only meet our basic needs but also nurture the interconnectedness between people and the environment.

Why Creative Facilitation?

Creative facilitation, from my perspective as a practitioner, involves guiding groups through a dynamic and collaborative process that unleashes their collective creativity and problem-solving abilities. It’s about creating a space where individuals feel empowered to express their unique perspectives and ideas, fostering an environment of open communication and innovation. As a creative facilitator, I often use diverse methods such as brainstorming, improvisation, and interactive exercises to tap into the group’s creativity. The essence of creative facilitation lies in recognizing and valuing the diverse strengths within a group, encouraging participants to step outside their comfort zones, and promoting a culture of experimentation.

By weaving together various artistic, playful, and reflective techniques, creative facilitation helps teams break through conventional thinking patterns, unlock their creative potential, and arrive at innovative solutions to challenges. It’s a holistic approach that not only enhances the problem-solving capacity of a group but also nurtures a collaborative and supportive atmosphere conducive to creative exploration.

Who is a Servant Leader?

First coined by Robert K. Greenleaf in the 70’s, a servant leader is someone who prioritizes serving others and places the well-being and growth of their followers at the core of their leadership approach. Instead of focusing solely on accumulating power and authority, a servant leader flips the traditional leadership model by emphasizing service to others as the primary objective. Such leaders actively seek to understand the needs, aspirations, and challenges of those they lead, with the goal of enabling and empowering them to reach their full potential.

The essence of servant leadership lies in humility, empathy, and a genuine commitment to fostering a supportive environment. A servant leader is someone who listens attentively, inspires trust, and works collaboratively with their team. By prioritizing the development and success of others, a servant leader not only contributes to the growth of individuals but also cultivates a culture of teamwork and shared success within the organization. This leadership style is not about control or dominance but about uplifting and serving the collective needs of the team.

Testimonials

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
