While women now constitute 45% of STEM students, only 26% hold STEM jobs in the US. The leaky pipeline phenomenon sees 40-50% of technical women exiting their careers in 5-7 years. Research by Gotara sheds light on why talented women leave STEM roles prematurely. Key factors include feeling undervalued, unsupportive managers, exclusionary behaviors, and a lack of growth opportunities.
