A mix of a step-by-step guide and storytelling, his book serves as a great introduction for those looking to get into advocacy but don't know where to begin. While I certainly do not have the amount of experience that Dr. Kteleh has, I can tell you both from my own educational and professional experience, and from reading his words, that he provides great advice for anyone's advocacy efforts. It shows that even with seemingly overwhelming odds against you, perseverance and discipline can lead to real and positive impacts in politics. Dr. Kteleh demonstrates this through a years-long journey that it's possible to work with elected officials who you may not normally support and bring officials with opposing political views together for a good common cause. He shows how his experiences relate back to his framework that serves as the book's title: The Six Pillars of Advocacy. It's also a simple, short read that avoids unnecessary fluff and is easy to digest. Anyone with an interest in advocacy should pick up this book.

In the beginning of the book, Dr. Kteleh writes: "There is an abundance of kind people in this world who want to help others. The difficulty lies in connecting with them."
In this book, Dr. Kteleh describes the practical steps for having a real positive impact on the society. He does this by telling the stories of his impressive successes in advocating noble causes that have affected millions of people both in the US and in Syria. The book is concise, easy to read, and very well-written to grab the reader's attention; when I was started reading, I found it hard to stop before finishing, especially as the book progresses, the causes become bigger, more important, and affecting more people. I found myself wanting to know how success will happen after the seemingly impossible challenges.
I recommend the book for anyone who wants to make a positive change in the world but don't know where to start. The Six Pillars of Advocacy will teach you how to start advocating for your cause.

I bought this book on Kindle, and couldn't stop reading until I was needed to do something else, then finished the remaining in second read! The author is able to keep the reader engaged, as it is based on real hands-on advocacy ground experience.
The stories of the prisoners in Syria under the totalitarian regime is captivating and at the same time disturbing. Dr. Kteleh does a good job in sharing those in the right context. His advocacy team ability to lobby at the level of POTUS, is in of itself an accomplishment, and be able to influence POTUS decision to save Idlib from the hands of the oppressors, is highly commendable!

This book not only narrates his journey of advocacy in the complex labyrinth of US swamp politics, but also proposes through it a pragmatic model of six pillars for others to follow!

    Thank you Dr. Kteleh!

This book was an absolute eye opener for me. If you are advocating for any cause, big or small, this is a must-read book. If you don’t believe your major wishes are achievable then this book may convince you otherwise. For me, while the 6 principles espoused here would unquestionably help any advocate close in on their cause, it was the samples used through the book to illustrate these principles, that was touching. The author, an immigrant to the USA from Syria, is determined to stem the war in Syria that is killing and poisoning so many helpless civilians and stop the dictator Assad from genocide. His determination and supreme efforts take him to Senators and even the President of the USA. And he achieves successes that one would have thought unimaginable by following his own Six Pillars of Advocacy, citing his efforts for Syria for each of the ‘pillars’ he presents. Great kudos to this author whose efforts saved hundreds of thousands of lives, and from whom we can all learn a great deal. Read the book.

Book review for Dr. Kteleh’s book: The six pillars of Advocacy.
I come from a different perspective as I write this review. I have been a patient and a friend of Dr. Kteleh for many years. I read this book as a favor and had no real interest in any particular advocacy. I thought it would be boring but I was definitely wrong. When he started out explaining the deferent pillars it was interesting. Then when he started telling the stories and his story In particular I was hooked. Not only is it a good read but the information that he gives on advocacy I am sure I will use in varying degrees in my own life pursuits and even help guide others. I would most certainly recommend this book even if you don’t plan on being a political advocate because education and information is power even if it is just to improve yourself.

Written in an insightful and easily digestible manner, the Six Pillars of Advocacy, brings the formidable task of becoming an advocate for one's chosen cause well within the realm of possibility. The bigger the cause the more daunting it may seem to advocate for it. But as the author clearly outlines, there are steps to be taken to break through the bureaucracy and the countless obstacles of trying to make change. Guided by the author's sound experience in the world of advocacy and his chapter by chapter "instruction guide", The Six Pillars of Advocacy is a must read for anyone who has taken up a seemingly impossible cause.

It collects and perfectly expounds in one place lessons one would learn in many years. As a matter of fact, the author's own experience is fundamental to ground and explain the enunciated principles. Definitely the best book I've read this year.
