100% of proceeds from book sales benefit work on environmental beautification, waste reduction and climate justice, what we call Earth service, which includes waste reduction, litter cleanup, the protection of waterways, preservation of sacred land sites through the organization of an international network of partners + volunteers. Moonchild Botanica
Introducing, Moonchild Botanica, a flagship program of House of SOLEIL that lives at the intersection of agriculture and art in order to bring holistic wellness into more spaces. Our mission is to serve as your holistic wellness sanctuary, offering an array of holistic options that may start with herbs but extends out as gathering spaces, each steeped in the rich traditions of Black and indigenous wisdom linking Appalachia to Africa and sprouting a yield in many places in between.
We are akin to imaginary mycelial on a mission to unit people with plants as much, and as deliciously, as possible. It is an honor to spread the love.
All of the herbs used in the botanica are grown, cultivated, harvested and packaged with a high quality standard while ensuring we stay true to our commitment to both Earth care and people care. In ths spirit of cooperation, the ecosystem supporting Moonchild Botanica begins at a local farm (i.e. Cortina’s herb garden!) and is complemented by others who match our ethos such as Plant Good Seeds, Frontier Co-op and Nutrition World for the seeds and herbs in our recipes. On the journey of seeking my purpose, I came to learn about the stories, traditions, cultures and spiritual practices of my ancestors – the indigenous keepers of Mother Earth and the enslaved Afrakans shipped around the world against their will. Although treated as property, these were human luminaries sharing their wisdom and gifts as farmers, engineers, medicine people, herbalists, scientists, spiritual advisors, entrepreneurs to name a few. They shaped the world we live in today, astounding us with their advanced spiritual technologies and universal understandings. They learned Mother Nature’s ways, mimicking divine design as they co-created with God and they sought balance in every aspect of their life. They left a sacred blueprint that is now more important than ever. We can shape a new normal – each with our own special sauce – and the universe will rise to support us. Whether you consider yourself to be a spiritual sojourner or curious student – may you find belonging here as we build a life of our wildest imagination + restore sacred connection, individual to planetary.
