Broc just wrapped up reading Matthew Sekol’s “ESG Mindset: Business Resilience and Sustainable Growth.” It’s a “must read” for anyone in the ESG space for a number of reasons. Matthew works for Microsoft as a Sustainable Industry Advocate and comes at the topic from a place that many of those reading this review comes from: inside the business world and knee deep in having to grapple with a fast-moving field that is just in its infancy. Matthew is also all about doing the right thing for the right reasons. And that’s what “transparency” is all about – building real-term value by communicating clearly and honestly. It’s particularly valuable for those that haven’t lived deeply in the ESG space yet but are being introduced to it now – and will be involved in it in either a leadership or reporting role. It’s a practical – and easy read – for board members, C-Suite officers, those in the ESG reporting food chain and anyone else that will be supporting the data collection and disclosure initiatives that will now be mainstream for most companies. This blog contains a dozen of the many nuggets in the book that struck Broc's fancy #esg #climate https://lnkd.in/edckbk9G

This blog - featuring Michael Levin - describes how a shareholder proponent was able to include five shareholder proposals in a company's proxy, way more than the single one that Rule 14a-8 - the shareholder proposal rule - allows by leveraging universal proxy #corpgov#shareholderproposals https://lnkd.in/eEVb4Hn8

Kicking off our Get to Know LAB series, meet one of our amazing advisors, Sara McKinstry! "It’s hard to believe, but this year I’m celebrating 25 years in sustainability. Whether I’ve worked for or with government agencies, universities, or companies, I have always loved helping translate technical information into easy-to-understand pieces that people can use to help them make decisions. Companies play an enormous role in advancing sustainability globally. And they are impacted just as much by our collective decisions and actions towards the environment and each other. I get great satisfaction helping them communicate what they are doing around sustainability—not only because doing so provides investors, employees and others with critical information, but also because such transparency is a crucial component of moving all of us towards a more sustainable world. And what gets me the most excited is where ESG or sustainability reporting is heading next. It’s evolving so quickly around the world. As a forever student, it makes my nerdy heart sing." #ESG #sustainability #corporatedisclosure
