About the RUBY Trial

If you have red, watery, or itchy eyes it could be an infection called viral conjunctivitis, also known as “flu of the eye.” Viral conjunctivitis is highly contagious and spread through direct contact. Typically, viral conjunctivitis lasts 2 – 3 weeks. During this time, sufferers often must avoid work, school, and other public places to avoid spreading to others. Currently, there is no medication available to reduce the signs, symptoms, and contagious nature of viral conjunctivitis, but researchers are working on new options that may be able to help.

Right now, doctors at select centres in Australia are conducting the RUBY Trial. The study will evaluate OKG-0301 eye drops (a new study drug), to see if it can reduce the signs and symptoms of viral conjunctivitis, as well as the overall length of infection. The study lasts about 2 weeks, and involves 4 visits to your local study centre.
