Toronto, Ontario--(Newsfile Corp. - December 21, 2016) - EnerDynamic Hybrid Technologies Corp. (TSXV: EHT) ("EHT" or the "Company"), a global renewable solar and wind energy provider and creator of the Enertec solar embedded roof, today announced a strategic partnership with Northern Shield Development Corp. (NSDC), a First Nation and Aboriginal focused structurally insulated panel housing provider.

This partnership will combine EHT's solar embedded SIP (structurally insulated panel) with NSDC's complementary SIP housing system and deep experience providing SIP housing in First Nation communities. The first project will be constructed on the Brunswick House First Nation located near Chapleau, Ontario and will trial the Enertec system on a now under construction 1,100 square foot home being built by NSDC.

"This is really a major step forward in First Nation housing. The combination of technologies and next generation building products will make this house unlike anything we have come across on reserve. The magnesium oxide SIP panels provide energy efficiency, durability, mould and fire resiliency and the addition of the Enertec solar roof will make this home like nothing seen before," said Steve Marshall, President of NSDC.

John Gamble, CEO of EHT said "This partnership will demonstrate a unique building envelope that is extremely energy efficient and almost self supporting in its need for energy in a environment where energy costs are prohibitively expensive."

At the core of the Enertec product, whereby the solar cells are embedded in a proprietary fire proof skin, is the substantial cost savings from eliminating heavy glass panels and aluminum racking, two significantly limiting factors in the adoption of solar because of weight limitations, and onerous shipping and labour costs.

A lighter product at a better price point will open up a larger market for solar because of faster payback times especially for rural and remote users looking to go off-grid. Furthermore, The entire EHT embedded solar roof becomes a massive solar panel capable of producing significantly more energy than the home requires, allowing the structure to then become an important source of power for the local micro grid or large battery storage systems.

"Poor housing conditions on reserve are a very well known fact. Mould infestation, house fires and unbearable electricity or diesel fuel energy costs are major issues that just about every First Nation community is facing. Working with our partners at EHT, we are addressing these issues at a price point that meets CMHC and AANDC funded programs," says Marshall.
