Vancouver, British Columbia--(Newsfile Corp. - May 13, 2015) - Viscount Systems Inc (OTCQB: VSYS) ("Viscount"), a software company specializing in physical and logical security solutions, today announced that the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services ("USCIS"), a service of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, has placed a $2+ million order to install the Freedom Access Control Solution ("Freedom") software at up to 200 sites and 4,500 doors over the next two years.

In the first phase, Viscount's Freedom will be deployed at 46 of USCIS' sites which already use a previous version of Freedom and will secure more than 1,500 doors. Phase one of the three-phase rollout is valued at more than $800,000. Following the ratification of President Obama's Immigration Reform Plan, the deployments may grow to more than 300 sites and 6,000 doors.

USCIS is the U.S. government service that oversees lawful immigration into the United States. It relies on Freedom's full compliance with U.S. Government's FIPS-201 standard, which was created in 2006 out of the HSPD-12 (Homeland Security Presidential Directive) policy requiring the use of Personal Identity Verification (PIV) credentials by employees and contractors for secure access to government buildings and IT systems. Viscount's new software installation will bring USCIS to full FICAM 1302 (Federal Identity, Credentialing, and Access Management) conformity across their access control network

"As a service of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, securing government facilities is a vital aspect of USCIS's mission," said Dennis Raefield, President and CEO of Viscount. "Because the organization manages the naturalization process, it needs to adhere to a high level of security for all premises. We will be providing our client with a security solution that is fully compliant with all regulatory requirements, yet flexible enough to keep up with their highly sophisticated, dynamic infrastructure."

"With Viscount's Freedom, USCIS will continue to provide a safe pathway to earned citizenship, while protecting its critical people, property and assets," continued Mr. Raefield. "We expect this order to significantly impact our future earnings performance for the coming quarters."
