Hybrid Announces Filing of New Patent by its Research Partner

San Francisco, California--(October 19, 2011) - Hybrid Coating Technologies Inc. (OTCBB: HCTI) announced today the filing of U.S. Patent Appl. No. 13/028,067 prepared by its strategic research arm Polymate, Inc. The new patent which is filed under the Company’s licensing agreement, entitled “A method of producing a hybrid polyhydroxyurethane network” provides a significant reduction of the petroleum component by substituting it with carbonized soybean oil in the Company’s Green Polyurethane product while maintaining and improving all of the favorable product characteristics. Hybrid is the only company in the world that can make carbonized soybean oil polyurethane floor coating without using any isocyanates in the entire production process.

"This latest patent is very significant as the carbonized soybean oil will replace the hydrocarbon based resin component of the Company’s Green Polyurethane product which is approximately 70% petroleum based,” said Joseph Kristul, Chief Executive Officer, “This patent significantly reduces the petroleum dependency for making polyurethane thereby shielding the Company from increasing oil prices and reducing overall production cost.”
